Pros
I worked for MS for more than 4 and half year. Its not a place where you can work with cutting edge technologies, but the compensation was great and the team moral was good (before covid).
Cons
My team got a new manager and maybe the covid hit the company heavily. My last year at the firm was a nightmare. I was worked for the Budapest office, be very-very careful when you apply here, situation changed a lot in the last year. A few highlight from my last year: -Manager told on a big team status call: "Everybody shall be able to answer calls even in the middle of night, you have to stay home because of covid, you have nothing else to do just work. (nice work-live balance)" -Huge amount of overtimes, oncalls in the last year (without any compensation, no extra money, no early leave next day). Somebody in my team even called on new years eve and worked untill 10 PM. Daily 10 hours of work was normal on my last 6 months. -Managers are constantly lying (I was asked to only speak about overtimes and oncalls when the candidate directly asking it during the interview and always say the minimal information, hired people end up in completely different team, different technology, I had a coworker who resigned on his second day because it was complete different than what they told her during the interview). -I have asked help from HR about the legal status of uncompensated oncalls and overtimes. I got a follow up email after a month, they said they need more time to answer my question. I resigned a little bit latter, but I didn't get any answer for more than 2 and half month from local HR about a labor law question (that's just ridiculous). The compensation is still above average, so you can give a try if you want, but ask directly about on calls and overtimes during the interview. Ask follow up questions, and be careful because you can end up in a different team with fully different technology stack then they promise during the interview.
