Pros

You can take a break every couple of hours

Cons

The work environment is dominated by poor leadership and unhealthy management behavior. Employees are often minimized, spoken to disrespectfully, and made to feel small so leadership can feel in control. There is clear favoritism, with certain employees overloaded and held to impossible expectations while others with higher titles contribute very little but receive more recognition. Plus employees in lower ranks ideas are credited to management and higher ups. Not only you do not see rewards for your ideas, but management creates illusions, breadcrumbs you and is not supportive to create opportunities for growth for some people, to promote you. You are stuck in your band/level environment with close to zero opportunities for moving up until you leave Nike, even though your responsibilities and skills are 2,3 levels higher. The culture encourages using people and not rewarding them accordingly to their skills and levels, encourages competition, and pitting people against each other. Some employees are allowed to work remotely, while others are required to come into the office. the environment is fear-based and demoralizing. Managers could benefit from training focused on equitable treatment, emotional intelligence, and creating a healthier, fairer work culture. This working culture is extremely detrimental to your mental state and very very unhealthy and super toxic.

Pros

Working at Nike was a great experience overall. The company culture is energetic, inclusive, and team-oriented. Management encourages employees to embody the Nike brand and provides opportunities for growth within retail and corporate roles. Employee discounts are excellent and make it easy to enjoy the products you sell. The work environment is fast-paced, especially during launches and holiday seasons, which keeps the job engaging. I also appreciated working alongside passionate teammates who genuinely cared about customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

Cons

Retail schedules can be inconsistent and often include nights, weekends, and holidays. During peak periods, the store can become extremely busy, which can be stressful when balancing customer service expectations with operational tasks. Advancement opportunities can vary depending on store location and management structure.
