Pros

If the team is lead by an experienced and talented Manager, the environment is great to work. Work load is high but a good Manager (if he/she knows what people management is all about) understands and provides a flexi ambience to deal with day-to-day work pressures

Cons

Assessment and recruitment of managers is sometimes poor. A Manager in a setting like Novartis should be best assessed not just based on his/her knowledge, rather its the natural talent for managing people tactfully or can even be inculcated overtime after gaining some experience. Lack of this kind of recruitment creates a tough environment for associates to deal with and their careers are at a stake sometimes
