Pros

I was initially attracted to the company because of their unique business model. It's always nice when there are disruptors in the market. Some nice people. Excellent lunch.

Cons

Where do I start.. No morals, no ethics, it's a horrible money driven machine. Junior employees get treated like the senior's assistants, they make people redundant left, right and centre, and then hire more people who do exactly the same thing over and over again so the cycle never stops. People are treated horribly, there's gossip, nepotism (I remember countless instances of people getting hired because they were related to someone..) and plenty of back stabbing. It's everyone for themselves at Oliver! The finance team don't do anything, they don't pay anyone, and freelancers and suppliers are left with no money and no respect. There's no long term planning, it's all about who can we screw over today and how much money can we make this second. The sales team over promises and will literally make a deal with any kind of client, whether it's a fridge supplier that needs a new leaflet, or a massive consultancy that needs a complete overhaul. purely to get a bit more money and a nice little bonus for themselves. Hr is treated horribly, and consequently they are incompetent with dealing with such a fast growing (and then fast being made redundant) company. Then Oliver keeps buying all these failing companies, who then have a massive chip on their shoulder and no one gets along. It's just not a nice place to be and I feel sorry for who thinks it's a good employer. You've either been there 10 years and are therefore with the "in" crowd, know the CEO and can expense whatever you want and do whatever you want, or you're a naive employee who's been there for a year and is just starting to realise that maybe the grass is indeed greener somewhere else. Once you can take a step back and remove yourself from this toxic environment, you realise that what they do and they treat you is NOT normal!

Pros

Decent benefits HRA helps cover deductibles and co-pays Standard holidays and personal days

Cons

They tell you your role is "full time" only for you to find out later there's a time limit to your role. (Usually a year or less.) Total b.s. when it comes to job security. Make sure your "full-time" role is actually full-time and not some glorified contract for a one-time project.
