Pros
The people, the compensation, the autonomy. The people and compensation: even after people leave, they stay in touch with their managers and have certainly built life long friends. We hire great people, provide support and training and whether they succeed or not, is up to them. The opportunity is what you make of it. Autonomy: we don't have micromanagement. You run your own sales desk. We will guide and measure but as long as you are showing effort and hitting clear expectations, you can chart your own adventure.
Cons
It's a competitive environment. It's friendly but everyone here wants to succeed; and wants to see our customers, consultants and company achieve! The way that I look at it, it's much better to deal with internal competition, where we have rules around fair play and you know what your competition is doing versus having us as external competition! Work/life balance, if you are in a sales role, for the first couple of years, there really isn't very much but it's offset by autonomy and a supportive infrastructure.
