Pros

Sometimes it could feel thrilling. Especially when customers would listen to your advice or buy the products you suggested. The training is intense which is both a pro and a con. (A definite pro for less experienced employees. ) Monthly gratis was the biggest pro. Employee discount is very nice 30% off everything or 40% off Sephora collection.

Cons

Often times it felt like I was working at a car dealership instead of a beauty store. It often felt like we would be pushed to annoy customers. I hated this feeling and it was constant. Leaders and management would go overboard with pushing credit cards onto people. I felt like a robot and not a human. It was a high stress environment. The return policy is absolutely terrible for the employees that have to deal with it. Customers were allowed to return products that were empty, no barcode, no receipt, extremely difficult situations were still encouraged and accepted often times when it was even against policy! This made a lot of rude customers continue to shop at our specific Sephora and made the job super stressful. It got so bad that my anxiety forced me to quit.

Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive coworkers. Management is generally pretty good. You get to work with all the fun products and learn directly from brand reps. And the customers are there to learn about the products - and you get to talk to them about the best products. If you're excited about Sephora, go apply!

Cons

Hours vary based on the time of the year.
