Pros

- Interesting speakers in monthly/quarterly fireside chats - In spite of poor leadership (see Cons below), there are a lot of folks who work hard, busting their butts to try and keep the ship afloat.

Cons

You'll hear the right things, but you'll soon find out that leadership doesn't walk the walk. My tenure at this company was the least exciting, least productive, and biggest waste of time in a 10 year career. Culture and the direction of the organization starts at the top and it seems the current leaders at Slalom still operate and run the company like it's the staffing agency it was 15+ years ago. Make no mistake, leadership's priority is increasing the share price of the company for GMs and executive leaders. Investments in people and enabling technology are afterthought. - I've never experienced politics that were so destructive to a company and to its people. Throughout my tenure, I witnessed Directors attempting to undermine other Directors, telling their teams after partnership calls not to trust other teams. While these deteriorating relationships were obvious to anyone with eyes and ears, the VP in charge of the group seemed to ignore the issues, letting them fester - Benefits are laughable. Adding an extra "You Day" in 2022 was lauded as a huge investment in people. When you're working 60+ hours a week, an extra day off is a drop in the bucket. - Work life balance does not exist - Pay is mediocre at best - Leaders lack experience and exposure across different companies. Many are "lifers" who have been at Slalom most of their careers, believe the "Slalom Way" is the best way. Frankly, it isn't and if leaders are unwilling to adapt and change their ways the company is going to continue to go downhill. Slalom experienced a huge amount of turnover in 2022. On my team alone, three newly hired Senior Managers left within a year. Leaders may attribute this to the great resignation, but these issues are more indicative of a leaderless ship, poor management, and many of the issues above. I've worked at Accenture, Deloitte, EY, Amazon during my career. Any one of these firms will provide better benefits, career experience, and career progression opportunities. I feel awful for many of the people who work hard in spite of the issues above and would implore those with the company or interested in the company to seek opportunities elsewhere. It will be better for your career and your life.

Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
