Pros
Good benefits and PTO given.
Cons
This might be futile as many negative Travelers reviews are eventually removed. I've been a Travelers Personal Lines Underwriter for over 5 years. This has become the most dysfunctional department I've ever worked in. Nobody is on the same page. Agents call in and get a different answer from each person they talk to. This is partly because of the LITERALLY HUNDREDS of different ungodly long and asinine procedures that nobody has time to stay current on due to the nonstop calls and emails. There are also unwritten procedures we're supposed to know. Those unwritten procedures often change without you being notified. Utterly ridiculous. Every time a few underwriters quit, they'll hire more, but never more than those who quit. So our staffing numbers reduce and our work load increased, constantly. We used to have great relationships with our agents. Now, we no longer have time to maintain a relationship because you don't have time to talk to agents when you're just answering the next call after the next call, etc. Systems crash every day. This company still uses DOS based programs. It's no longer the 20th century, but Travelers hasn't noticed. Unless you need "Underwriter" on your resume, stay away.
