Pros

After five years with Peninsula, I can honestly say that this is by far the best role I have ever been employed in and certainly the most rewarding, both personally and financially. A dynamic, fast paced environment which keeps me engaged and with great communication and collaboration between departments. One of the best "pros" is the variety of this role, helping our clients navigate People / Safety Compliance, and the huge range of businesses we support - Construction / Trades / Hospitality / Retail / Education / Logistics to name a few. There is plenty of opportunity to grow and learn. Management are supportive and collaborative with regular check ins (my role is field based). A great team culture also where there is plenty of support amongst colleagues. From a financial perspective, this role has been life changing for my family and I - potential earnings / commission is uncapped. I feel valued and supported at Peninsula.

Cons

Specific to my role - these are not "cons", but observations. This role has a lot of autonomy - there is support and collaboration available, but this needs to be self-driven and it's important to remember that although working alone a lot, you are never truly alone at Peninsula, and there is always support and help when needed. It's fast paced and resilience is super important - some situations our clients find themselves in can be very stressful, so it's very important to be resilient and objective, and not become overwhelmed - control the controllables! Communication is key - engaging with your team and managing time well will keep work-life balance at a good level, but it is important to keep pace and be up to date with the requirements of the role. This happens by default if managed well with engaged and driven employees. Work hard, Stay Focussed and it will be very easy to say: "I love this job".

Pros

It’s a great place to learn and grow. The organisation offers strong learning and development opportunities, and I’ve gained a significant amount of knowledge in a relatively short period of time compared to previous in-house experience. Christiarne has been a supportive mentor and manager, always willing to share her expertise, and guide the team along with some laughters. The team culture is collaborative and enjoyable, with a genuine sense of support among colleagues. Stephen is also an amazing leader who leads by example, and both he and Christiarne truly invest time and energy into developing people, which contributes to a positive and engaging workplace environment. The work itself is interesting and varied, providing exposure to different industries and opportunities to build technical ER skills.

Cons

Flexibility around personal commitments could be enhanced, as attending appointments typically requires taking unpaid leave instead of working from home. There is also an opportunity for salaries to be more competitive.
