Pros
English for fun is an amazing project, and the first school I’ve worked in that genuinely puts children and families first. Knowing about the history of the typical English language academy system in Spain, and the lack of quality preschool education there, it’s clear that no where quite gets it right. It was a breath of fresh air to work for a company that genuinely cares about children, and not test scores.
The mission of the organization is clear and the training offered is of high quality. I definitely learned a lot in my time there.
Like anything in life, the more you put in, the more you get out of it. If teachers (especially inexperienced ones) are willing to learn from the professionals they work with, and take on board constructive criticism, then negative attitudes towards menial things like cleaning up after oneself should not be an issue. Experienced professionals/adults should understand that if you make a mess, we’re responsible for cleaning it up! I have always been under the assumption that this was common knowledge?
When unhappy people expect to have their needs met before those of the people they are working with, disaster is bound to happen.
I loved working in a place that puts the needs of others first, team environments are when we really get to do great things. It’s a shame the reviews above focus on the negative experiences of these employees relationships with administration and management, and little is mentioned about the amazing and supportive staff and families they got to work with, as well as the positive things management did during their employment. I had a great relationship with management and always felt supported.
I always saw happy children and happy families, who trusted us with their babies and knew that the school was different from all the rest. This in turn is at the core of the company values.
I always had endless resources in my classroom, but I suppose not everyone is able to be confident in their creativity. What a shame, as isn’t that what we are trying to teach children afterall? And to critically analyze/ take on challenges and rise to them and solve them? Complaining doesn’t fix anything.
I also loved the supportive nature of the staff and management, and enjoyed problem solving together, it was humbling to know I was around people who knew what they were talking about, and that the professional development resources were always there when we needed to improve, both individually and as a team.
Internal and external training was offered consistently throughout my time working at English for Fun, and I definitely noticed that many employees chose not to take advantage of these training sessions/events. What a shame that people feel they are above learning and growing. There’s always time for vino and tapas another time! I was lucky enough to take up all opportunities for further learning and networking, got to practice my Spanish AND drink wine all at the same time.
I’ve been embarrassed and sad to read these reviews above, as I only ever saw the positives in working for English for fun. The owners and management are extremely passionate, work extremely hard, they truly care about their work, and they put the children and families first in everything they do. Why would this not inspire you? It’s a shame teachers, especially those who have many years of experience, only think of themselves when writing such reviews online.
I know that English for Fun attracts passionate educators, and I hope that future reviews reflect the greatness that happens in the schools.

Negative employees who do not want to work in a team bring down overall morale, and lose sight of why they wanted to work for this amazing, creative school in the first place.
