Pros

Worldwide Company Opportunities due to open positions Sometimes there is money available Above average salary

Cons

In the last 6 months around 100 people have been fired from Fandom, a lot of people at Fandom don’t know it’s that many. All managers are told there must be no communication about firings so moral doesn't sink any lower. Employees regularly scroll through Slack to see who has disappeared, as this is the only way to work out who has been fired this week. Regular firings have now become fundamental to the way the company operates (just check the regular Glassdoor reviews). You get the feeling that those at the very top have no idea what to do with the company because each time they set out in a new direction they begin by shooting themselves in the foot. For example a recent decision was to focus much more on the community of Fandom that makes and updates all the pages. This makes sense as the community is the only thing keeping the company afloat and making money. However what do they then do? They fire a large proportion of the community staff, many who have worked there for years and developed deep relationships with the contributors. I was warned by a friend not to work there as while I’d make slightly better money it wouldn’t be worth it, I wish I’d listened.

Thanks and we have addressed many of these issues. Fandom is a very difference place than Q1 19 when we were in lots of transition. I think you'd be impressed how we've grown.

Pros

The people I work with closely are extremely hard working, and make my job much more enjoyable.

Cons

No trust in the CEO. Upper management can be condescending, manipulative and incredibly untrustworthy. Employees are not happy, and when this is voiced, they are dismissed. The company acts as if it’s the greatest place to work, but it’s so forced. So many people are unhappy. There is no confidence in the business.
