Pros

Good for freshers out of college with stars in eyes, BPO/ school drop outs, and people looking for short term learning before moving better place, It does give you an opportunity to networking with industry leaders and speak on equal terms. You gain good exposure in managing office politics at its worst levels, managing your managers/ team leaders in various ways. If you are beautiful with good assets or gymmer with good muscles- it helps.Your position can change overnight- literally! You can always work your way up through all means. You gain vital understanding of the conference industry which is outsourced to India for cheap labor. You could some day always move out of India for the bad or good, which many ex employees have done. Its good till you say yes to boss and do what's told, don't fight much back with favorites of Management. The one good things is people who have been dismissed also have landed in good positions outside, so that's a signal perhaps the sacked laborers were not so bad. If you can stick around for a year or so- you are senior in whatever you do. The pay rise is also good. However the rules surrounding the senior title can be unfair to some- some get good sponsorship managers and thus in three events- rather three bullets- shots- they are senior producer. Say some lady or gentleman- note sarcasm please- gets a sharp shooter who brings in huge dollars, then the producer has to get very few speakers plus promotion assured. So it is also vital that you get good sponsorship manager and projects which boost your survival. So who gets good projects and who gets dummy projects/ low expectation projects is decided by management and at times colluding members from sponsorship and sales team - thus creating lobbies. These lobbies are positive as they build team spirit- built over nights of spirits and gossiping. It can be negative also as internal unhealthy rivalry gets created,

Cons

No processes, Lack of KPI based promotions, favoritism from Line Manager to Top Management, Overnight promotions, The Management itself does not seem in control of things being dictated by bosses in Europe. The worst thing is treating every one as cheaply expendable, Line managers attempt to recruit in own favorites and sack those whom they feel shall serve them no purpose. At times the feeling is work is last- wear a TIE , proper shoes pants shirts and COME ON TIME. Yes, also make sure to juggle office politics well, cry in front of your managers, one lady manager is famous for making people cry in one on meetings and her team members apparently do not fight back but crib behind her back. Other managers may be very sweet in your front but inside closed doors with Merc and Audi owners can do anything to get a ride in their Audi or Merc. At times the management seems helpless. All it does is sack people whom it cannot reign in. No processes which are practical are implemented, no positive KPI, no check and balances of power abuse, no HR for grievances handling. Its time the company realize its almost a decade since it was started and grow up. Showing clear career progression path with well defined KPI, is first step, second would be to stick to it always. Have no wrong policies in place.

Pros

There are many to mention but all that goes down in the drain and have been overshadowed by the cons.

Cons

Poor management. No responsibility. HR is inactive, more interested in personal life rather than career growth of a individual. Harassment of women employees. Women molestation reported frequently, but no action taken. Lot of womanisers and supporters in the office .
