Pros

Foundrae is smoke and mirrors. They pretend to be unique and diverse. This couldn't be farther form the truth.

Cons

They pay 1% commission after you have worked for 3 months & sell a certain amount. Luxury retail is all about commission, It's how you survive and make money. 1% Commission is in-line with whole sale accounting. Foundrae is greedy and very offensive that they will not pay employees a normal commission range. Luxury retail commission is typically 4 to 8%. They pay their Dallas employee 3% commission and their LA employees 2% commission. They do not allow their employees to purchase jewelry. You are only allowed to buy up to 5K in retail costs per year. You may only purchase after you had your three month review. You quickly learn that there is very little in the line for 5K retail. They do not allow you to buy gifts for your family. Essentially they do not want their employees buying FoundRae jewelry. When I approached Ruth the CEO, her response was they provide jewelry for employees to while they're working. Another excuse she gave was concern that Jewelry would be sold on The Real Real. So you're working for 1% commission with no health benefits and you're not allowed to buy jewelry. When any celebrity walks in they automatically give them a 40% discount. The culture of this company is so toxic.

Pros

None, if I could give this company less than one star I would.

Cons

This is hands down the most unorganized company I've ever worked for. Work here if you like working 9-10 hour days, employees being fired at random after being blamed for something they didn't do, or new hires quitting on a regular basis after they quickly realize how bad it is.. The company is expanding too rapidly without any type of organization in place for the new stores it is opening, and as a result, employees are overworked. Management insists that things are changing, but nothing ever does. I could go on about pay, the complete and total lack of support with regards to the amount of employees that need to be hired vs. the number of employees they actually have, lack of inventory, or the fact that the office gives themself off on Black federal holidays (MLK, Juneteenth), when they have maybe 1-2 Black employees, but up until very recently (yesterday) did not give Juneteenth to their store employees, about 50% of whom are BIPOC, but if I did, this review would be 80 pages long. Do not work here. I don't know a single happy person that does.

Pros

There are no pros to this company!! The new director will lie to you and promise you a creative lucrative environment with benefits. Once you have started your new role and realize they've lied about health insurance, employment buying program and commission the panic sets in. When I approached him about why the health insurance they offer is based in New York and $700 a month at the employee cost. His response was "I don't know about that, my husband pays my health insurance". Once you actually start to work for the company his phony façade and fake smile quickly disappear. You learn that you're not allowed to buy any of the jewelry. They limit you to $5,000 per year at retail, when you look at the jewelry that's maybe one item. So forget buying your mom or sister a gift. All the while he struts around wearing about $200,000 worth of FoundRae.

Cons

FoundRae is probably the most deceptive and poorly run company I've ever experienced. At the helm the CEO and quite possibly the most evil woman I've ever met. She truly does not care about any of the individuals working for the company they're all replaceable in her mind. She has no interest in her employees succeeding in life or making a living wage. Her level of greed is something out of Greek mythology. My time there I witnessed a revolving door of employees either being let go or quit. You will be lied to in the interview process told your given health benefits, part of the Jewelry buying program and commission. The health plan the offer will cost you $700 a month. You will not be able to afford or be allowed to buy the jewelry. Ruth has put a 5K retail limit on what you can purchase per year. That's maybe one small item as the pieces are quite expensive. She will never pay you more than 2% commission which in luxury sales is unheard of, especially in fine Jewelry. When approached regarding the extremely low commission the response was "you choose to live in this expensive city and we are not responsible for your lifestyle". This is laughable as there's hardly lifestyle when you're barely making enough to pay rent on the wages they give you. The phony mirage FoundRae has presented dissipates quickly. FoundRae claims to be based on symbolism and meaning. FoundRae is based on is greed. As you struggle to survive any celebrity that walks through the door is given a 40% off discount. They only want the famous and wealthy people to own the jewelry. FoundRae is based on economic inequality and Plutocracy.
