Pros

While working at Frontier I have met many amazing people and made friends for life. Working as a volunteer coordinator comes with a large amount of welcomed responsibility and allowed me to experience another side to conservation, where our volunteers are vital to the data collected and the work done in the field. One of my favored elements of working at Frontier was participating in events at educational institutions, this gave me the chance to talk with like-minded people as well as network with other NGO’s and charitable organization. At these events, I enjoyed getting the younger generation excited about travel and conservation, as well as sharing my knowledge with them! I highly recommend others getting involved with Frontier whether this is through the internships at London HQ or on their overseas placements and volunteering programmes!

Cons

Unfortunately, where I was based at home made the commute difficult to sustain.

Pros

Having worked for Frontier for a number of years, I can honestly say that it is the most fascinating company I have ever worked for. Having previously done my time in the daily grind of office working, it is now incredibly motivating to know that my time is going towards a genuinely inspiring vision. In regards to the earlier review, I can see how someone might think that interns are heavily relied upon. However, the flip side of this is that interns are given meaningful responsibility right from the start, and many interns go on to work for Frontier or for other respected 3rd sector organisations as a result of their placement. At Frontier you will work hard and be expected to take responsibilty, but in return you will work with a fun and inspiring team, towards objectives that actually mean something.

Cons

The main drawback is having to look at photos of the volunteers having great experiences in paradise locations, and wishing you were there!
