Pros

The kids are awesome. Thailand is an amazing country. Beautiful landscape nearby and nice mid sized Thai town location. Teaching is very rewarding and working with children keeps the job fun and active. Also, most of the other teachers are awesome people.

Cons

This company branch is at best terrible and at worst criminal. The school and the students are great, but the company and management are awful. The business is ran like some sweat shop rather than a British company. Promised 42,000Baht per month, but in reality you only get 34,000 - 40,000 Baht. They automatically take 2,000 every month as a 'deposit.' Sick? Another 2,000 deduction. Which is ridiculous considering you are in a foreign country working with children all day. You are bound to get sick. Lose a flash card or prop? Another -2,000Baht. For your first months they deduct another 2,000 baht because you are on 'probation.' The catch is they can extend your 'probation' for as many months as they feel like it. This happened to many other teachers that I worked with. Besides the money scam, you will be treated very poorly. If management doesn't favor you (male or unattractive female), you will be forced to travel 1-2 hours every morning in a van to a new school location. This they will not ask you or inform you about prior. Regarding actual teaching time, you will be forced to follow a strict method regardless of your class size/time/knowledge. You really don't teach English at this company. You are more like a show that gets paraded around. The company doesn't care about what is best for the students. It only cares that you show up and spew out their agenda 5 times a day regardless of the class needs. You are given no respect as a teacher. Your input is useless to the company. Management will intrude and interrupt your classes unannounced. They will even scold you to teach differently right in the middle of your class. It is a joke. You are also forced to wear a heavy, thick, scratchy work shirt everyday. Thailand is hot and very humid. Your work 'uniform' is the worst for such a climate. You will constantly be hot and uncomfortable all the time as only the select few get AC rooms. I could go on about the this place, but I think you get the idea. this agency is a total scam. They will not care about you or the students. They will do the bare minimum as long as they appearance is kept up and they get paid. My year here was a huge disappointment, and I feel very sorry for the students and their parents who are being exposed to such a terrible program.
