I've been there for 3 months, and can honestly say it's stressfull. The pay and benefits are excellent, however you are treated like a lessor person versus the Chinese. They blatantly will tell you that they are more superior to Americans, and they show it with no I'll effects towards them. It's a rotating door there. More people have come through there in 2 years than are working there. Approximately 2300 work there, about 600 are Chinese Nationals on H1B visas. All of them are called "engineers" even though most don't have any engineering degrees. The communication is horrible between them and Americans. Have meetings and speak Chinese while the Americans are going "huh"? Confusion with paychecks being correct are a weekly occurrence. Overall in the Maintenance department, there are more of them than Americans. They claim no one has the skills they do. Yeah right. They are dangerous in how they attack machinery. Ignore loto, ignore normal US safety standards, pretty much do what they want, how they want. Troubleshooting is throwing 10 Chinese on a simple issue, and making the issue worse. 1 American fixes the same issue quickly and correctly, but all the while ignored by the Chinese. Spare parts...what spare parts...most are ordered from China and take forever to arrive, when locally the part exists, but they want their Chinese parts instead. In other words, their parts are cheaper, but constantly fail. If you're a maintenance guy who does things the right, correct way...don't go there. You'll just get frustrated and leave. It's a waste of your time. I took a lesser paying job elsewhere, and am much happier working for and with Americans. You'll get no overtime, but the Chinese will! You'll get blamed for everything, the Chinese are never wrong in their eyes...even if you had no part in it, they will always throw the Americans under the bus, and claim that Americans have no experience, and are lazy. Don't get caught up in all the hype about how their bringing jobs back to Dayton..maybe jobs for Chinese or Americans who are willing to bow down to their backwards, communistic ways. There's something wrong there...something isn't right. Complain to the labor board about hostile work environment, racism towards Americans, and you'll get no where. All they do is say "but they brought jobs back". Whoop de do! You'll be treated like garbage! Just ask the 7000 or so who have been there in the past 2 years..one helluva revolving door. Nuf said!
