While there are plenty of resources a self motivated person can use to learn more about this ever-changing company/industry, you will most likely not get much training on "how to do your job". This company grew very big very fast and lacks consistent documentation on processes, has some bloat in leadership and hundreds of different applications being used in different departments. There are lots of internal politics and its not uncommon for employees to not know what another department does. As a result of all this, we often look like we have no idea what we are doing to our customers and to some extent its true. GCI doesn't always know what GCI is doing.

Senior Leadership lacks direction and cannot execute. Process and decision making is left up to individuals without agreement on strategic next steps or buy in from stakeholders. Teams are siloed and don’t work together. Blame is placed on lower level employees when objectives are not met.

Profits over people, top heavy management/executive teams, very willing to RIF/layoff long term employees, closed-minded leadership.

There are struggles with obtaining funding for critical IT projects.

Repeated reorganizations are burning out the staff. Favoritism is very evident. Career progression halts at the management level unless you are among the favored or popular leaders. The recent reorganization has resulted in increased stress levels for employees, leading to poor decision-making and higher workloads.
