Pros

Good place to work. Good benefits. Cool people. Easy to move up if you have the motivation.

Cons

They give you really good benefits but they pay you really low wages. It's not competitive. They seem to spend much more money on marketing and management rather than the network professionals that are keeping everything going. Very low salary wages in comparison to national averages. Tons of OT if operational to meet your annual required salary.

Pros

Really good engineers are recognized quickly if their managers listen well. Work from home benefits are great Flexible hours to handle work-life balance if needed.

Cons

Company politics between groups gets in the way of performing the job. GCI operates in a very reactive manner. Budgets can balloon or be be cut quickly. The company relies on federal spending for much of their projects.

Pros

Competitive pay scale, unparalleled 401k benefits, good healthcare with HSA, forward thinking in regard to employee morale and welfare.

Cons

Reorganization has made roles a bit of a mess. The network is a cacophony of ideas that were never brought into cohesion. Confusion reigns in regard to roles and responsibilities.

Pros

Does have some good benefits

Cons

You will be worked into the ground and still asked to work harder The pay sucks The nepotism is real They manage like its still pre-2000's, and have not kept up with the times This company is LOATHED by Alaskans for good reason. Work Life balance does not exist. Only work, all the time, no exceptions.

Pros

The 10% 401k contribution is excellent, though the pay is lower. Veteran and DEI Programs. So many hardworking and talented individuals. Remote work options provide a very favorable work-life balance. The employee internet for those with GCI service is a fantastic benefit.

Cons

Repeated reorganizations are burning out the staff. Favoritism is very evident. Career progression halts at the management level unless you are among the favored or popular leaders. The recent reorganization has resulted in increased stress levels for employees, leading to poor decision-making and higher workloads.

Pros

- Amazing pay (Base + Commission) - Supportive Managers - Amazing Benefits - Options (at the location I was at) to work 10 hours shifts( Means you only work 4 days out of the week!) or 8 hour shifts. - A lot of PTO! - Had such a good work/ Life balance. - Awesome Coworkers - Hour lunch breaks

Cons

- The customers can be rough at times but if your good at talking to people this is something that’s not a big deal. - Point based attendance system
