Pros

Most colleagues are genuinely nice, supportive, and capable, and they’re the main reason many people stay despite everything else. Management should stop taking that goodwill for granted, it won’t last forever if trust continues to be eroded.

Cons

The company loves to claim it’s “committed to flexible working,” yet enforces a rigid three-days-a-week office mandate. This isn’t flexibility, it’s box-ticking and corporate spin. The disconnect between what’s said publicly and what’s imposed internally is glaring. Pay reviews are an absolute joke. Salary increases are a smack in the face and do nothing but highlight how little the company values its employees. After increased workloads and rising living costs, the so-called raises feel insulting rather than rewarding. Management haven’t got a clue. There is relentless chopping and changing of strategy, priorities, and structures, often with no explanation or accountability. Teams are left scrambling while leadership flip-flops from one “new direction” to the next. The culture at the top is dominated by toxic positivity. Monthly briefings are filled with forced enthusiasm and hollow buzzwords, while the reality is conveniently glossed over. What makes it worse is that a completely different, more honest message is shared behind closed doors with leaders, proving that transparency only exists when it suits management. Overall, this is an organisation where reality is ignored, employee trust is eroded, and grand statements mean very little. If you’re considering working here, be prepared for hypocrisy, poor leadership, and a widening gap between words and actions.

Pros

Cons

Inaccurate work deadlines, don't care about the staff and bullying is an issue. Communication is non existent and work is done over and over due to preferential engineering wasting time and money. Certain managers in positions of power which has led them to believe they are good at what they do which is quite frankley the opposite.

Pros

The main positive aspect is the skilled workforce below senior management level—engineers and technicians who are great to work with. They are the sole reason employees persevere at GHD, often while planning their eventual departure.

Cons

1.) Financial Instability GHD in the UK operates separately from the global business and struggles financially. Poor management practices, such as over-hiring based on unrealistic workload projections, lead to repeated redundancies, with employees sometimes let go within weeks of joining. Dependency on the Australian division further highlights the UK branch's instability. 2.) Toxic Management Employees frequently face harassment, unfulfilled promises of overtime and bonuses, and mismanagement on projects. Constructive feedback is often ignored, and enthusiastic workers are reprimanded. Mistakes are repeated across projects, with those tasked to fix them left unsupported. 3.) Unethical HR Practices The HR department reportedly engages in unethical practices, including falsifying records and deleting key emails to dismiss employees unjustly. Documentation requests are often refused, forcing employees to seek legal intervention. 4.) Low Work Quality Overworked staff and leadership's disregard for expert advice result in poor project execution. Managers struggle to maintain team trust due to rejected proposals and being falsely held accountable for failures. 5.) Lack of Leadership Heads of discipline provide little to no direction, leaving managers without KPIs, business plans, or strategies. Efforts to propose solutions are ignored, leading to project failures and penalization for speaking up. This review reflects ongoing issues within GHD’s UK division, as corroborated by recent reviews. Consider carefully before joining and seek insights from current and former employees of the team in question. The problems described here are only a glimpse into deeper systemic issues within the company.
