Pros

With almost two decades of professional experience and after had worked for so many companies (as full-time employee or consultant), GameDuell gave me one of the most unique professional experiences that I could imagine. As a senior developer, I had the chance to work with different teams on different projects: from Big Data to games, going thru DevOps and even a little bit with the BI team. Does not matter where you go, you will find extremely dedicated professionals with high quality standards. I read a comment mentioning that "creation of a new projects takes too long" at GameDuell... Well, working for a reference gaming company in Germany you should expect the quality of AAA games. In my opinion, they provide anything that an employee would need: nice chairs, desks, computers, amenities (drinks, snacks, a huuuuge kitchen, fruits, ...). It's very common to see GameDuell as main sponsor of important tech events in Berlin. They will also support you with certification fees or event/seminars costs. HR team is incredible: they helped me on everything that I needed and before I left they interviewed me to gather information about what they could improve or adjust to make the company a better place to work.

Cons

- The salary is a bit lower than the average (for Berlin) but certainly it's a perfect job for someone who is looking for a good work/life balance and many career opportunities.

Used to be great.. now it's ok.

Pros

Remote work - it's easy to get job done remotely and comes in handy quite often. Co-workers - great people (well, used to be even better, but sadly a lot of them are leaving..) Vacation days - 28 days of vacation is quite nice. Flexible working hours - sometimes I feel like coming early and other times late, so this flexibility is quite nice.

Cons

Salary - way below the industry standard (also why a lot of talented people are leaving - unless you're around for a long time or working one of the key positions, you're stuck with below average salary) Bad decisions - investing heavily into projects that already failed while having a big app with A LOT of monthly users being developed by external company just makes no sense... Caring for employees - you should realize that you employees are people with feelings and treating them as such should be your priority. You're losing A LOT of talented people who brought a lot of extra to the table, not just the professional expertise and you don't do anything to keep them around. They provide the family feeling to the company, they bring the spirit.. you should really look back and see how the morale was 2-3 years ago and how it's now after you let all these people go for nothing.

Budget for employee development. nice office environment. mostly friendly and helpful colleagues. free language courses. respect on work/life balance.

Cons

no innovation for a long time. lack of challenges. cool employees left one by one.
