Rotating shifts and irregular rest days Sales targets affecting commission. Being expected to juggle artist, salesperson, stock support, and admin duties. Limited flexibility. Feeling that your responsibilities exceed your compensation.

Pros

It felt like we were the trailblazers of a groundbreaking trend (distressed sneakers) and that felt nice. It was a product that I believed in and I still feel the idea behind the sneakers is really brilliant. That is all. That is ALL.

Cons

-commission is next to nothing & frequently is *literally* nothing (unachievable goals; no commission if you don’t meet goal) -the hourly pay is okay until you realize how sparse commission is and how much work is required of you just to keep the store from caving in. -teeny tiny itty bitty stores with little storage, have to make trips to an offsite stock room often throughout the day, no room to store RTW onsite. So if someone says “hey can I try this dress in a large?” you have to say, with a straight face, “sure I’ll grab that for you, I’ll be back in 20 minutes.” Tuhhh -same winter uniform year round, no matter how hot it is in your district (at least while I was there) -my impression was that corporate genuinely does not care about you, your health, your team’s well being, or if they’re asking something of you that is logistically impossible. They don’t even care about employee retention until there’s *literally* no one left to run the store. -anyone who wasn’t a manager or asm was treated with disregard at best. Some reviews mentioned company dinners which did frequently happen— for managers. If you’re not a manager you weren’t invited. No holiday dinners, nothing. -a whole lot of truth-bending during the interview process -at times, store management was noticeably afraid of district manager- not in a normal way. -They promote their friends, regardless of work proficiency. I saw very few promotions/little growth within the company otherwise, not even people who really truly deserved it. -I could go on, the point is that these stores are operationally unsound in every aspect and they treat you very poorly regardless of how hard you work.

Pros

Hourly breaks, free sneakers, working on better incentive

Cons

I have more than a few cons. There needs to be improvement in the sneaker maker title, the artist should be paid more for the role they’re given. Selling and customizing isn’t an easy task to balance, especially when there is an opportunity for a sale only to be given by a style maker cause you’re still working on that cocreation. I understand for us to sell, but the artist should be paid more just to focus on the customization since that is the main reason we apply for this role. Sometimes, I don’t see eye to eye with my coworkers or managers and it gets more frustrating to stay. We are overworked and underpaid for a position that deserves more praise.
