TOXIC, NEGATIVE, and MONEY DRIVEN company!

Pros

Facility is modern and up to date. New equipment.

Cons

This company is a false advertisement of “#GROWTH”. WARNING the 5 STAR REVIEWS on here are written by their corporate board to save their image. Upon hire they stress providing opportunity to grow and transparency to staff which is nothing but broken promises. The word TRANSPARENT is overly abused by their management team. For reference they should pickup a dictionary or google the definition of what transparent is. Empty promises from a money driven corporation. They claim they want to change the industry for employees but they just want to change it to their benefit. Upon hire I was promised opportunity to grow and move up from my position. A year later employees were demoted one of them whom had been with Goodvets since before they opened their first hospital. I reached out to management questioning where does this leave my opportunity to grow and was left without an answer. This company has had a high turnover in employees within less than 1 year, 4 doctors, 6 receptionist, 7 technicians, 2 vet assistants, 4 kennel attendants and 2 managers have left the company in the Chicagoland area. They have created a toxic work environment by their poor ability to create protocols, create a work life balance for their employees and burnout due to UNDERSTAFFING their hospitals with the bare minimum to save money for the new hospitals both local and regional locations in surrounding states. This company definitely does not appreciate a single employee within their hospitals. This company is overly focused on expanding and becoming a corporation rather than focusing on patient care and employee treatment. Changes in the company are made and employees are left in the dark. It seems as if employees here are as easily changed as lightbulbs. It is well know that when running a business one should take a loss or as said “spend money to make money” but they REFUSE to hire more staff after the team begged them for over 6 months. A monkey can run a veterinary business better then these people. They most definitely have earned their WELL KNOWN reputation within the industry.

Thank you for the feedback. All hospitals experience growing pains; a couple of our hospitals are still going through them. It's challenging to find the employees who are best suited for us, but we’re working hard on meeting that challenge. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Up to date equipment, easy to use medical software, great staff, pet care benefits

Cons

I left because I was being over worked between two hospitals and was belittled throught the phone by manager. Contract states they can place employes in other locations without notice. Understaffed in all departments except doctors, kennel, va, and techs are expected to recomenstate for the work. No travel coverage of any kind offered except for management. Management is not transparent, communication is not there. Evaluations are made by management through watching staff with cameras they have in place all throught the hospital even in breakroom all staff expressed that it doesn't feel comfortable eating in the breakroom while being watched. Staff is over worked and stretched thin as it is. Management avoids paying OT when someone was to reach OT they will move it to payment for the next check making it seem as one works regular hours rather than paying the OT hours. Management will use a work app to communicate with staff rather than have meetings. Staff is made to meet at corporate office for reviews, and meetings on days off.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We run small, growing hospitals, and that isn't the right environment for everyone. We look forward to hiring more excellent staff as our business expands. Good luck to you in the future.

Pros

Medical directors and veterinary staff are all top notch; you can trust bringing your pets to your neighborhood GoodVets

Cons

Corporate leadership only cares about profit, not animals nor the staff who care for them; arrogant chief officers trying to scale aggressively before fixing key issues in existing hospitals; nepotism and elitism in hiring practices; culture of blame and distrust
