Pros

What's left of some of the older employees. The rest are al jumping ship.

Cons

I regret to say that my experience with GreenShield has been nothing short of disastrous. From the moment I stepped through their doors, it was evident that the workplace was plagued by rampant politics, nepotism, and an overall toxic atmosphere. First and foremost, the blatant favoritism displayed towards certain employees based on their connections rather than meritocracy is appalling. It's disheartening to witness promotions and opportunities in Marketing being handed out not to those who have worked hard and demonstrated skills, but to individuals with the right last names or personal affiliations. This nepotistic culture stifles the potential for growth and discourages talented employees from striving for excellence. Management is nothing short of being strategic, and if there is some sort of strategic direction, it gets killed by due to the jealousy of another exec member. The management team is only capable of emotional outburst and promoting themselves over LinkedIn. I've never come across an organization who think they can only achieve running a business via LinkedIn.

Pros

- Employee events - Free Coffee

Cons

I joined GreenShield with sincere enthusiasm 10 years ago, attracted by the organization's dedicated commitment to "Better Health For All." Unfortunately, my experience has been marked by profound disappointment, as it quickly became evident that the organization faces substantial internal challenges, primarily stemming from a lack of integrity within the leadership team. The decision-making processes within the organization appear disproportionately influenced by an external consultancy group named STEM, notably owned by the CEO's former superior. This reliance on external guidance raises valid concerns about the leadership's autonomy and critical thinking capabilities, as decisions seem to be delegated to STEM rather than being internally generated. GreenShield is presently undergoing a significant transformation, yet this journey is marred by pervasive political dynamics and unrealistic timelines across the organization. Despite the external accolades (which have have been bought or doctored) bestowed upon the organization, a closer examination reveals a facade, with an internal culture seemingly endorsing and rewarding bullying behavior. This incongruity prompts questions about the credibility of the accolades, necessitating an external audit to scrutinize the veracity of Green Shield's purported achievements. Regrettably, a palpable sense of dissent permeates various departments, including IT, Product Development, Marketing (+GreenShield Cares), Sales, and HR. Notably, the only functional area displaying a semblance of coherence is Strategy, while the rest of the organization appears entangled in a disconcerting state of disarray. The prevailing atmosphere within GreenShield undermines its declared commitment to better health, warranting a comprehensive evaluation of the organization's practices. Furthermore, it is deeply disturbing to note instances of inherent bullying and discriminatory practices based on race or religion in some functions. Such behaviors have resulted in individuals being marginalized to the extent that they have been compelled to take mental health leave. This issue demands urgent attention and intervention to cultivate a more inclusive and supportive organizational culture. There are also instances where these the organization exhibit a disregard for regulations and legal recommendations, fostering a perception that they consider themselves above the law. An additional concern centers around the marked income disparity observed among individuals in comparable roles within the organization. This incongruity necessitates a thorough examination of the fairness and equity in the compensation structure, with potential repercussions for overall morale and team cohesion. For those who thrive in an environment characterized by dynamism and a less rigid structure, reminiscent of the "wild wild west," this organization may align with their preferences. However, it is imperative to carefully weigh the implications for organizational dynamics and employee relations. Caution is advised, especially for individuals prioritizing mental peace and personal well-being, as this organization, located on Yonge Street, is only "Better HELL for All."

Pros

The kind people who answer the phones in Windsor

Cons

Executive team is comprised of a CEO who has unrealistic deadlines, stomps his feet like a petulant child if he doesn't get his way and cannot manage his horde of immature ego centric EVPs who whine to him , gossip about each other daily through Teams chats and are obsessed with their LinkedIn profiles. They speak about better health for all but turnover is increasing, people are running for sick leave and they expect you to work around the clock to fulfill their non strategic direction that changes daily and on the hour. They spend an abundance of time crafting polished videos , press releases and LinkedIn posts to come across as kind, caring and compassionate while quite the opposite is true. If you want to be bullied by an EVP who more than likely does not deserve the level they are at or their promotion and wreck your mental health, join this toxic place. There is a reason the regular staff call senior executives here the snake pit.
