Pros

- can grow within agency - provides training

Cons

- HIGHLY disorganized - limited support - works for a broken system with minimun effort to advocate for change - no cohesion within coworkers/peers - justifies turnover with "this job is not for everyone"

Pros

- Supervisors are very supportive and willing to provide assistance when needed. - Working with a complicated demographic can provide meaningful experiences that other organizations may not experience. - Curriculum provides guidance for a new therapist and much needed structure when working with clients.

Cons

- Some may find the demographic difficult to work with. - Schedule can feel intense at times, especially if needing to cover for another therapist. - Working alongside 3rd party organizations can prove difficult and frustrating when you may not agree with the way those parties want you to work with their clients. - This is a personal issue but the 10-hour shifts did not work well for me. Being in an office for 10 hours (not including the mandatory 1-hour lunch) severely made me burn out from the position. Management worked with me to change my schedule which was great but otherwise it was very difficult to maintain.

Pros

If you are interested in forensic work, I recommend working here. I looked all over San Diego County and found Hope offers the most diverse work. There are lots of training opportunities and the company provides CEUs, which I like. I also feel supported by my supervisor and team. The company also offers pretty good incentives.

Cons

Adjusting to the four 10-hour workdays took some adjusting to. A three-day weekend is a perk, but you may find yourself contemplating a five-day work week, which the company does offer, so not a con but something to consider before taking the job.
