Pros

Great mission. Coworkers are passionate about what they do. Good benefits.

Cons

Company, team, and individual goals aren’t clear and are not realistic once they are revealed. You’ll be expected to do the role of multiple roles, so it can be overwhelming. There are some very inept people in leadership that will you have you spinning your wheels without much purpose and won’t do much to elevate anything to the next level. The fast pace of hiring is unsustainable without an effective onboarding process… lots of confusion on who does what, what someone was hired to do, and even what the goal is. Decision making at the executive level often seems way out of touch with what is actually needed.

Amazing work community and culture but poor management

Pros

Very encouraging of diversity, culture, and work community. Some managers are flexible with work/life balance and schedule.

Cons

Leadership practices in a strict and tight circle of entitlement. They advertise internally that they are flexible, open, and supportive. However, when in the moment, they are not. If you are not in a leadership role, you will be treated as lesser and very poorly. Manager level and up were not hired with management experience and do not know how to manage difficult employees. There is no accountability so if you are an employee that works hard, you will end up doing the slackers work. The environment is chaotic, stressful, and dishonest. If you are verbally promised a promotion and/or raise upon hire, be sure to get it in writing/contract - you will most likely not receive it.

Pros

Great mission with good benefits

Cons

There is no work life balance. Expect to work at least 60-70 hours a week. There is a double standard when it comes to tolerated behavior. Aggressive and disrespectful behavior is tolerated. Unethical decisions are made and staff is forced to follow through on tasks that are a complete waste of time. They do not promote within even when interest is expressed. Unqualified leaders are hired instead. Toxic work environment with a lot of backstabbing.
