Pros

I can’t think of any positives at this time.

Cons

I would not recommend working here, particularly if you value your mental well-being. During my time at the company, I experienced a culture of fear, high turnover, and extreme micromanagement. Communication was often unprofessional—for example. I was discouraged from collaborating with male colleagues on certain projects, being told that the predominantly female staff should be “enough” for me. In addition, I witnessed unethical practices, including the inappropriate use of personal contact information to send hostile messages. Several team members, including my entire department, were pushed out or left due to the toxic environment. Proceed with caution.

Pros

Company mission and purpose is admirable.

Cons

The owners are very clique. Either get in with the cool kids or you might be wrongfully terminated if you bring up any concerns or issues you have with other staff. I was terminated after I reported about how I was being treated by one of my colleagues, who was friends with the owners. Rather than feeling heard by these women, who push the women owned agenda, I was fired without acknowledgement of my concerns, and without a reason.

Pros

Flexible pay, choose which bookings.

Cons

I would give 0 Zero stars but it's not an option. Very little business/very few bookings, you will not be able to make a decent living, and will actually owe back in taxes even though you will be low income. They are misclassifying household workers as "independent contractors" with no benefits and imposing a tax burden, and should be investigated as a company as they should not be getting away with this. They do not value their workers/you are disposable to the company, strict, unrealistic rules including in the case of falling ill and a no cancellation policy (you will be allowed 2 per year that's it-including if you are seriously ill). Not thoroughly evaluating sitters's side of the story in the case of customer complaints (wholly excluding sitter/worker's side), and you will be complained constantly, even whilst doing a stellar job and being convinced that you did great! Siding with families, wealthy privileged families who are biased and are extremely hard to please, with no qualms at complaining the service they use as a work benefit (will complain you/the sitter). You are seen as a dispensable worker of Helpr, not an individual by families who do not value you. They receive Helpr as a work benefit, and they do not pay for it, (even though they are wealthy so paying for = worth in their minds but they do not pay for your service = you have no worth to them). Therefore, they feel they do not choose you /the sitter/which sitter they get, nor value the service, and will complain you over anything unsatisfactory. Families are often "work from home" parents who do not see all the hard work sitters are putting in, but feel entitled to complain every little thing that can go wrong with their child, including normal things, and their child being extra difficult with a new person or even special needs type children who've not been labeled such, but are. It is a huge liability with safety and responsibility in working with kids, no matter your expertise, confidence, or experience level and is not worth the liability (which is held over your head). You will be liable no matter what to a company that doesn't value the work you do, respect you as a person, and for ungrateful parents looking to blame someone else for their difficult children whom they don't know how to handle.
