Pros
Hypersonix is performing cutting edge nanotechnology coating research. Hypersonix is trying to take a University Research project and transitioning it into a viable commercial production. The unique situation of applying new technology to a start-up company challenges the engineering staff to use their vast experience to develop solutions within very tight financial restrictions.
Cons
For a small start-up, Hypersonix neither respect their employees nor value suggestions from anyone who does not have a PHD. The company has consistent problems paying both vendors and employees. Employees are salaried and work long hours and while they are technically allowed to work off site; off site hours are questioned and not always accepted. (An example of this involved new parts for production designed and constructed offsite but the employee’s offsite time was rejected.). Management’s attitude and actions combined with the financial problems creates a stressful and hostile work environment.
