Pros

- Interesting projects to be involved in and experience working on - Great portfolio of clients - Accessible office location - Creative projects with great value Other pros for me: Leaving the business and finding out there is great culture, value and respect elsewhere.

Cons

From my experience: pre 2017 – no previous years as option on Glassdoor Interesting to come on here and see reviews mirroring my feelings about ICE. Honestly, for a long time my experience with ICE impacted me considerably, it was a massive confidence blow that took time to build up again. I went from a high to a low fast & unexpectedly, it was bizarre, which being early in my career was hard to understand at the time. There was a lot of unhappy staff when I was there, this became apparent in my first couple weeks, I was taken back by the high staff turnover in such a short amount of time and in particular the treatment of some colleagues by managers/directors. If you openly voiced your feelings/raised concerns (in a reasonable way) limited time is left and trust me they will push, poke, and prod you. I was quite early in my career and new to this line of work, my role was entry level however I felt the guidance/training from management was poor and often left you feeling incompetent & humiliated. They were quick to openly highlight your missed opportunities or errors but any ideas of yours they used were not celebrated. This was a huge setback for me however thankfully I have since learnt that this is not common practice and there are respectful companies out there where you can flourish, learn, be rewarded, work autonomously in a trusted environment, be respected and have a life outside of work without being made to feel guilty. -No value to a work/life balance -Toxic/blame culture -Hypocrisy culture - zero action on the values they preach -Unrealistic expectations with very poor support and training (especially important when early in career) -Unfair workload distribution and highly controlled environment - Poor benefits, salary with the expectation to consistently work more outside of standardised hours.

Cons

Research Leadership and Company Structure Dive deep into the company’s leadership, especially the CEO and senior management. Examine internal/personal relationships and leadership styles. Pay attention to whether decision-making appears top-heavy or opaque. Leverage LinkedIn for Unfiltered Feedback Connect with current and former employees on LinkedIn and ask open, respectful questions about their experience. Look for patterns in their responses — high turnover, poor management communication, or lack of development opportunities. Clarify Your Boundaries and Priorities Determine what you need from your work life: is it balance, autonomy, and support — or are you prepared for a culture that rewards overextension and burnout? Be honest with yourself about whether you're willing to work in an environment where boundaries may not be respected. Understand Office Presence Expectations Ask how many people work from head office versus remotely, and how power or influence is distributed across locations. A culture that revolves heavily around being seen in the office may indicate outdated views on productivity or micromanagement tendencies. Hybrid Work May Be Conditional and Unstable Although hybrid options may exist, they’re often subject to abrupt changes. If flexibility is described as "at the company's discretion," expect that remote work privileges could be revoked at short notice — sometimes without clear justification. Be Wary of Unreasonable Travel Demands If the role involves same-day long-distance travel, clarify expectations early. Questioning excessive travel or expressing concerns about logistical strain may be frowned upon. Prepare for a High-Pressure Atmosphere Success in this environment may require not only technical competence but also the ability to navigate politics, poor communication, or inconsistent expectations. The phrase "patience of a saint" isn’t used lightly — emotional resilience and a thick skin could be essential survival tools.

Thanks for your detailed review. we’re sorry your early experience fell short. Six weeks is a very short time to form a complete view, which is why we structure onboarding around 30/60/90‑day check‑ins and clear objectives to make expectations (and support) explicit. 1 On hybrid work: our documented policy balances collaboration and flexibility (time in the workplace/client site with agreed home days), and any changes are discussed via the policy rather than made ad‑hoc. On travel: we prioritise digital‑first to minimise travel and reimburse required business travel under our handbook. On leadership: we invest in collective, compassionate leadership so decisions are visible and inclusive; if that wasn’t your experience, we’d like to understand why and improve. We’ve noted your themes and are reinforcing onboarding, hybrid clarity, and leadership visibility. If you’re willing, our People team would value a confidential conversation to learn more.

Pros

Colleagues Parking Views from the Birkenhead offices Managers in the Coventry and Gloucester offices - culture in these is far better than Head Office

Cons

Toxic senior management Poor pay with an expectation of going over and above for no reward and when you don't they turn their 'psychological warfare' on you. You are either with us or against us mentality - akin to a cult or brainwashing As a previous reviewer has stated this is incredibly damaging and takes a long time to get over. They want you to be 'vulnerable to grow' in other words, take your greatest fears and use them to manipulate you.
