Pros

- Good place to kick start career as a grad - fast progression, especially within the Client Services team - Mid-management good

Cons

- Unorganised exec team - no planning involved in big decisions, and any product/company roadmap is dictated by client demands, rather than what the company wants and more importantly, what the company can handle. Very happy to let employees take the hit when consequences occur from their lack of organisation - Employee welfare and happiness is not a top priority for the company, despite saying it is. The company is trying to create a great working environment by injecting superficial benefits (e.g. free lunch on Mondays, free fruit), however what they need to focus on is creating a company which rewards hard work, constantly challenges their staff, whilst supporting and trusting their employees to do a great job - Lack of adherence to company procedures and documentation around company policies and employee rights. Evidenced by immediate dismissal of a very good and hard-working colleague, who had moved to a different country in support of the company's growth, and has contributed immensely to the success of one of their international offices - Employees are not appreciated and not fairly compensated for their hard work - evidenced by lack of bonus payouts to all employees and unrealistic revenue targets for commission based roles - New starter inductions are variable - really depends on what team you are in and how busy they are

Thank you for your review. We wanted to take the opportunity to respond to some of the points you have made. Infectious Media is a fast growing, privately owned business that is scaling quickly from a start-up to an SME. In addition, we are working in the one of the most exciting and fast paced industries in advertising. Programmatic technology is revolutionising media, and our agency is leading this change. As you can imagine this means that we are an inspired and hard working office and the exec team is no different. It is testament to our approach that within this challenging environment, we are expanding, winning clients and opening offices globally. Do we get it right all the time, no. Are we striving to make this the best agency to work with and work for, yes. In terms of staff welfare and happiness – this is something we take very seriously and something that is worked on continuously. We regularly poll our staff and have been told two years consecutively that the most important benefits to them are bonus, pension, generous holiday allowance, flexible working and private medical insurance (PMI). As an SME we have worked carefully to enhance our benefits year on year in consultation with our staff, at a steady rate, as we have grown. We now offer all of the top five benefits that our staff have said that they want – up to 30 days a year annual holiday, bonus, flexitime, pension with employer contributions and PMI & health cash plans. We do indeed offer free lunches and fresh fruit and don’t consider them to be superficial– our Monday lunch (MUNCH) for example, is one way of us encouraging staff to socialise and invest in relationship building– critical at a time when we are growing so rapidly and there are so many new faces in our offices. We are ramping up our investment in wellbeing by offering regular massages in office, as well as ensuring that all of our managers receive mental health awareness training to further ensure that mental wellbeing is top of our agenda too. You mention a lack of bonus payments – however, this is untrue. This year, all eligible staff received 100% of the proposed bonus for FY 16/17. The only exceptions were those that did not meet the criteria for bonus (those on probation, those who had served notice and those with any formally documented performance issues). Stronger inductions for new starters is something we continue to work on. Due to the rapid growth of the Business in the past year, we have welcomed over 48 new staff (doubling in size) across three different regions. This year we will continue to evolve our onboarding process so that it succeeds as the business grows and changes, achieving integration with our newer offices in Singapore and Chicago, as well as our London HQ . We are pleased to hear that there are some positives to your review. In terms of fast progression, this is indeed correct. Currently for those employees who have been with the Business for more than 1 year, 60% have been promoted within the past 12 months and 80% in the past 2 years – which we feel is testament to the rapid career growth opportunities that we provide.

Pros

There are a very few good people in the company who genuinely try to make a difference and protect their teams from the politics. If you can get in one of those teams you may enjoy working here. Relaxed work environment. Fairly decent coffee machine, really good food market round the corner.

Cons

Besides great colleagues, management is bad in every single way. There is a clear lack of vision. Not a workplace I will recommend. To avoid at all cost.

Thank you for your review. As you have given us a 2* rating rating and we’d like to respond to a few of the points that you raise. We are glad that you feel there are “very good people” in the company who try and make a difference. We agree with you and would like to think that this extends across all levels of Infectious Media in every team. You talk about management being “bad in every single way”. We know that we are not perfect, we are all working hard to keep up with recent rapid growth at Infectious Media which saw our headcount double in a 12 month period. We’ve listened to feedback from our staff and as a result of this have made further attempts to improve our communication as well as the ways in which we share the vision of the Business - so that people understand the direction that we are taking. Staff are asked to quiz our Founders at our Quarterly All Staff Meeting with any question that they would like answered (anonymously if they prefer). We also offer the opportunity for all staff to shape and direct our workplace via our Employee Forum, where any point can be raised and discussed, with a view to changes being made where needed. We like to think that the best way to affect changes as an employee is via a two way dialogue where we can really understand what the key issues are for our staff and help to make improvements. This can be done via the channels listed above or if you would prefer, you can speak to a senior manager or a member of the HR team so that we can try and help.

Pros

Free Lunch on Monday. Free fruits. Lower level people are just fantastic. Toilet Air dryers. Lifts very safe and always operational.

Cons

You'll be out of a job here before the ink is dry on your offer letter. Stay away! The recent promoted managers ran this company into the ground. No focus on culture or people which is what inspires employees to perform at their best, long hours and managers that do not believe on their people to work remotely. Shame on the leadership. Leaning on operational principles as it applies to the human side doesn't work either!

Thank you for your review. It is clear you’ve had a tough time working here and we are really sorry about that – it is never our intention for our staff have a negative experience of working at Infectious Media. We talk to our staff about our work culture on a regular basis e.g. via the Employee Forum, Q&As during our All Staff meetings, regular pulse checks with our managers . However, with the Business doubling in size in the last couple of years we have experienced some growing pains alongside the buzz and excitement of a rapidly growing agency. Our expansion has meant that sometimes people in our Business often have many plates to spin, and this can be a real challenge. As mentioned in a previous review, we are playing catch up with our management training and are working on another comprehensive program of training for our newer managers, as well as senior level coaching for our more experienced leaders. Feedback from our staff is that they generally understand that working at Infectious Media means being part of a disruptive business that is trying to change an industry for the better. Mostly people are on board with how we are trying to achieve this. Alongside the challenges we have experienced we still hold true to the fact that we are trying to create an amazing service for our clients and some incredible career journeys for our staff. If you would like to speak to us directly about your own experience, this can be done in confidence via our People team. Thank you again for your review.
