Pros

Everyone seems very nice, not sure the drive and motivation is there.

Cons

I joined this start up lab after having a great experience in my interview process. It seemed Christian based, and everyone came off very motivated and like they were going to do big things, on top of pay us a lot. Sales management seems genuine and like they care but they don’t follow through on anything, it’s all talk, no follow through. The C-suite is on vacation about once a month, others are also frequently out of pocket. They promise the world and give you very little. They promised 15k bonuses after 90 days and didn’t give anything to anyone. They were constantly wanting us to sell things we didn’t have and couldn’t do. My co-travels with sales management consisted of lying in every account we went to, telling potential customers we were ready to run tests when we weren’t even close to getting validation for such tests. Management typically is high energy and seems so sweet and genuine but upon knowing them longer it seems surface level, like certain things to say they’ve learned at Amway. Management is all “addicted to the grind” and extremely hard to relate to outside of anything other than that. But at the same time management doesn’t seem to work very hard, but wants you to. This company will con you into thinking their service is ground breaking and easy to sell and promise you owner-like pay. It is not going to happen. The lab space is extremely competitive and they do not recognize that. Even if you do convince a customer to use your lab they do not have the means to allow you to keep the customer. Top management seems to want to succeed but want its sales people to put in all of the grunt work with little help from them. Grunt work including editing requisitions, any materials you need while out in the field, getting the customer portal to work, shipping, packaging, the list goes on. Your job will be 12 hours a day if you work like they are wanting you to and the compensation will not be worth it—they say they will pay, but it’s only verbal. Nothing is in writing saying you will get commission, and after waiting it out it is confirmed that they indeed are paying no bonuses.
