Pros

They do pay mileage at .37 cents per mile round trip when traveling to and from assignments.

Cons

They often ask you to travel 2+ hours one way but do not pay you for the travel time. The mileage reimbursement does not cover the rising cost of gas plus wear and tear on your vehicle.

Pros

Flexible scheduling with the ability to accept or decline a patient based on your schedule.

Cons

You are on your own. Company is remote out of Alabama. Orientation is over the phone, not even via zoom or google meet. Company expects you to pay for pre employment physical and TB testing out of pocket. You only get paid for the actual patient visit and mileage reimbursement. No benefits. No paid time for orientation, in services, or prep work. I was not given adequate direction on how to send blood work for processing. You have to use your resources outside of the company to provide good patient care. If you call in sick, there is a slim chance that the company will find another nurse to cover your patient, and then the patient does not get timely treatment.

Pros

Freedom to accept as many or as little patients as you desire. You see your patients and leave. No micromanagement.

Cons

Not paid for time spent driving to and from patient's homes; Sometimes you will spend more time on the road and in traffic than you spend with the patient. Only reimbursed $0.45 per mile ($0.50 temporarily due to increased gas prices) and most patients are 30 to 200 miles away. All charting is done on paper and sent to company via scan, so you have to print out all necessary forms including time sheets, nursing notes, orders, etc. and you are not reimbursed for ink or paper.
