Pros

Market leading products surviving on client good will and a few die hard long term employees. Great travel options. Perfect place if you want to get away with little work as the managers haven't got a clue what we do, what the events are about or how to do it. Good opportunity to be promoted to manage others as you don't need experience and the staff turn over is so quick most people get a chance. Great people outside of my business unit. A few years ago I would have had a much longer list.

Cons

By far the worst back stabbing, I only care about myself place I've ever worked. Production and marketing are paid on GP while other departments are focused on revenue in any which way they can achieve it. My events grew YOY but I made less money while people in the sponsorship sales teams greatly exceeded their targets by selling valueless packages which impacted my GP! Aggressive unrealistic targets that make staff work in their own interests not the companies interests and certainly not in a teams interests. No team spirit, big blame culture which leads to no one trusting anyone they work with or their manager.

Pros

Well-located office Opportunities for travel with events Regular in-office social events

Cons

The recent mandate requiring a return to the office three days a week highlights a fundamental disconnect between leadership and employees. The CEO’s remark—“We will not be giving any more money because this is the money you would have used anyway before COVID”—fails to account for inflation, rising living costs, and the financial stagnation many employees face. This is the same CEO who, during the COVID layoffs, lamented his inability to go skiing while colleagues with mortgages and families were losing their jobs. It is easy for executives, insulated by their high salaries, to advocate for a return to the office without considering the disproportionate impact on those earning significantly less. The company purports to uphold the value of “removing barriers,” yet its stance on flexible working suggests otherwise. If leadership can so easily renege on this principle, it raises concerns about the broader integrity of their commitments. Furthermore, the relentless drive to increase share prices has come at the expense of employee well-being. Workloads continue to rise without corresponding recognition or support, fostering an unsustainable environment that prioritizes short-term financial metrics over long-term organisational health.

Pros

If you're looking for 'just a job' and to be treated like dirt then this is the place for you. Keep your head down, don't make waves, and you will go far just like the other clueless people in management.

Cons

Management! The biggest con by far. Promoting people based on their length of service has lead to bullies and fools in senior roles. The hierarchy in the company is beyond a joke, full of people that are too scared of new comers showing them up so they go out of their way to put them down and set them up to fail.
