Pros

Nothing, I took nothing from my experience other than a better judgement of characters

Cons

Chronologically - I was enrolled with 4 other staff members in 2017, all from different regions who ll left within the first 3 months of employment. Soon discovered that staff turnover was HIGH. Pharmacists are hard-working, driven and intelligent individuals which implies that this company neither values nor recognises their faults. Training is poor, expectations to navigate new GP systems, understand clinical reviews, execute them faultlessly and build rapport with surgeries, set up clinics, send out letters and much more in only two days per therapeutic area whilst the colleague training you tries to be as productive as they SHOULD be without you there is far too unrealistic. Promotional opportunities are only truly within the reach of people with no external responsibilities or obligations such as families, partners or pets. Expect to stay away from home at least once or twice a week. This is because you’re encouraged to keep our diary rolling with projects you’re posted in, a you’re penalised in many ways if you are lucky enough to WFH as that day as not been profitable for ICS. The cold calls you make on that one day you get to spend in your own home need to be logged and truly result in project days -having to defend every conversation you’ve had. Therefore opportunities for lead roles only come to those that have the freedom to work away from home and constantly live a life on unsociable hours. Waking at 5 to commute to your 9-6, which may be 4 hours from tomorrow’s commute means no time to yourself, your lunch, your dinner, your fitness, socialising or mental health. This was an extremely common occurrence with people working in Norfolk from West Midlands 2+ times a week. No remuneration for the time you physically spent getting to work essentially this is a rate of £11/hr. Management were clique-y dishonest and malicious. Very calculating in their ‘management’ methods. Not approachable, not supportive and HR are clueless. Very apparent that no one has formal managerial experience and people skills are shocking. The PDA criticised the investigation and disciplinary methods that were essentially illegal. The initial negative review has clearly sparked internal attention and interest and explains the influx of positive reviews that followed- Likely internally driven. That review was clearly intending to investigate a breach of NDA which in itself should raise the question -why would a company force an NDA on former staff members?

Pros

A role with Interface is suitable for somebody commercially minded who doesn't mind driving hours each day, their clinical judgement being questioned everyday and their work ethic not trusted.

Cons

Micro management; everything you do is time stamped, audited and watched. For example, the time you log in and out of the system is recorded, the time you spent on each patient recorded, the clinical decision you have made for each patient judged and recorded. You are scored on these and this forms part of a league table. Targets; you have KPIs for everything you do. The number of patients you call a day, the number of patients that answer the phone, how many patients inhalers you changed that day and are encouraged to make changes to patients medications just for the sake of it, to trick the pharmaceutical client (who is paying for the review) that their money is being put to 'good use'. Sales; You are constantly badgered to sell the companies service where they help correct the QOF register at a GP practice. You are also constantly bombarded with pressure to get GPS to sign up to clinical reviews and fill your own diary. All this on top of your day job, so add 2 hours onto your 8 hour shift plus travel time. I am a hard worker and in the 20 months I worked for Interface I proved myself time and time again. Only to be treated like dirt in the last few weeks. I was the top performer in my region and the 3rd highest achiever in the company for bringing in revenue. The thanks I got was that they refused to pay me the commission I worked hard to achieve, despite working the whole quarter! Dishonesty is a common theme in Interface. A role with Interface is not worthy of the 5 years you studied hard to get your license. But it is suitable for someone commercially minded with no back bone.

Pros

Great training plans A great way to move into primary care, you learn so much and great internal and external training Reliable bonus scheme if you work hard (be sure to check when you need to work until when you hand in your notice as you could lose a quarter's worth of bonus from working hard if you leave a day or week too early) Huge increase in remote working from home due to COVID-19 Work phone and laptop Car allowance and mileage paid on top of that Good expenses system - you can claim back things like parking, lunch after a night away, a bag for work etc If you are commercially minded, this is a great role as a part of your role may involve organising your own diary and generating additional work Those who are clinically minded can also put their skills to use, you learn a lot about clinical conditions very quickly and clinical systems Good progression - you can do a diploma and become an ACP or become a clinical trainer or go down the commercial development route

Cons

Travelling can be tiresome (you need to be comfortable with driving up to 1-2 hours at least once a week, frequently it can be more) and staying in hotels at least once a month. If you are able to generate work close to home then less travelling Some trainers focus too much on achieving kpi/interventions rather than the clinical aspect of the review Can frequently feel like a sales job when generating clinical services Can get lonely unless you are good with integrating with different practices very quickly
