Nepotism is well entrenched in the organisation, with people rising to senior management levels with little or no outside work or world experience. Advancements are based on who is invited to the annual ski trip. This is telling on team moral and performance. Entrenched work bullying culture, from the top down. I was left alone to fend for myself, after having had a stroke on a work trip. This was watched by a senior member of staff and a college in my office, after which they left me and went to lunch. My wife had to organise the return flights, and arrange for me to get picked up from the airport. On return wrapped over the knuckles for "taking myself to hospital" as none of my colleges made any attempt to help. Attitude towards me changed on return, and I do not believe that if someone was to get into trouble on a work trip in a hostile environment, that the senior management would make any effort to support this person. I have grave concerns for female members of staff's safety. Work insurance covered the cost eventually, but was not fit for purpose, my parents put down the deposit to cover my hospital admission as it was not recognised, and had to face debt collectors due to late payments.
