Pros

I’ve really enjoyed my time at Kodo so far. As an engineer, you actually get to own the features you build from end to end rather than just taking tickets. The engineering team is smart but has zero ego everyone is super approachable and willing to brainstorm. You’ll definitely level up your skills here because you get to touch a lot of different parts of the tech stack.

Cons

The classic startup tradeoff: because they move fast, the priorities can pivot without much warning. This sometimes leads to sudden context-switching or tight deadlines when a new requirement drops. It’s not for someone who wants a slow, predictable 9to5 every single day.

Pros

Good place to start and grow. You get to work on different things early on, which really helps in learning. The team is helpful and overall the environment is quite collaborative. If you’re proactive, you’ll get a lot of ownership.

Cons

Things can feel a bit unstructured at times since processes are still evolving. The learning curve in the beginning is a little steep, and workload can get hectic occasionally

Pros

Smart, driven and supportive teammates; peers are generally great to work with. Exposure to fast-paced fintech problems and ownership from day one

Cons

Highly top‑down environment where founders’ views usually prevail, even when not aligned with broader industry practices. No real hybrid culture: de facto expectation is full‑time office, WFH is questioned and can be adjusted against leave, and leaves are neither carry‑forwarded nor encouraged. Poor work–life balance; long hours and availability beyond normal working time are treated as the default. In-fact founders don't believe in the concept of work-life balance. Leadership communication can be rude and personally critical at times, and while feedback is solicited, challenging behaviour or decisions rarely leads to change The company has significant challenges when it comes to leadership and team management. There appears to be a lack of maturity in handling pressure at the leadership level, which often trickles down to teams in the form of unnecessary stress and, at times, unprofessional or harsh communication. Instead of a solution-oriented approach, there is a consistent focus on problems without clear direction or support on resolving them. This creates a reactive work environment with limited structure or clarity. There are also concerns around leadership style—interactions can feel dismissive, which impacts team morale and psychological safety. Compensation is not competitive relative to market standards and cannot offset the challenges in the work environment.
