Pros

Starting hourly rate is better than most part-time retail jobs, 50% staff discount (if the upper management allows you to use it), allocation of 50ml perfume (once a year if you are part-time which is kind of a joke), Estee Lauder SPC and staff shop perks, and you will get to smell good during your shifts.

Cons

I don't think I can state all of them in this space but I will try to give you the main ones. Unresponsive and careless upper management - they are quite delusional with the idea that they are the coolest people that ever existed on earth but the reality is that they are working a 9-5 job at a beauty company who used to be "niche and hip" but is now a part of a huge commercial corporate entity. If you get yourself liked by the team, you will do great but it is not worth the effort to be honest. Things just feel weird and awkward working with people in this company. It is full of people who used to try making it in a creative industry but eventually gave up trying and went full-time here either as a sales consultant or in their head offices. It just does not feel right. I have made many good friends with other sales consultants and have not heard a single of them speak positively about their experiences at Le Labo. Majority of them including me started out excited working for a cool brand but eventually got sick and tired of behind the scenes drama. And that tells you a lot about working for this brand. You most certainly will not feel valued here. There is many jobs out there that won't give you the level of stress and anxiety Le Labo gives so avoid it at all costs if you could.

Pros

50% off all Estee Lauder brands.

Cons

Honestly, working here has been one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. Just to clarify, this review is specifically about the Le Labo London entity, not to be confused with Le Labo Europe, which is managed completely differently. Upper management in London is completely disconnected from what actually goes on in the stores, and they just pretend to care. They'll smile to your face and promise you all this "growth" and opportunity, but it’s all talk. Deep down, they know there’s no real plan to help anyone grow. It feels manipulative, like they’re just stringing you along while the whole thing slowly falls apart. What’s even worse is that promotions seem to be reserved for the same four people at head office every year. It’s like they just hand them out to each other. None of them even come from the original Le Labo culture, and it’s honestly heartbreaking to see how much that’s impacted the brand in a negative way. The saddest part is that some of these people actually used to work on the shop floor, and now they act like they’ve forgotten what it’s like. There’s zero empathy for store teams! They just don’t care. And when it comes to actual issues? Forget it. Whether it’s payroll mistakes or employees struggling with mental health, they act like it’s not even happening. It’s all swept under the rug. In my opinion, something serious needs to happen, like a full investigation. The lack of support is unreal, and the toxicity is very much alive and well.

Pros

* You have the flexibility to manage your tasks but still feel challenged * staff allowance * The experience of not having to hard sell but inform the customers about the truly fascinating process

Cons

*Unorganised at times * Handling of chemicals without proper training * immature staff who will happily make you feel uncomfortable, unwelcome and leverage staff members against each other for personal gain * Management who have very bad interpersonal relationship skills
