Great Learning Ground, But Suffocating Work Culture
Pros
Role: Process Engineer (Shift + Technical Service) Pros: • Interesting and technically rich process. • Great place to learn the basics of plant operation, troubleshooting, and safety as a fresh graduate. • Exposure to both shift supervision and technical service offers a steep learning curve early in the career.
Cons
• Extremely toxic work environment with a deep-rooted “sahab culture” and bureaucratic mindset. • No structured training or mentoring system for new engineers. • Very little respect for work-life balance, especially for young engineers. • Hierarchical and outdated management approach discourages innovation and questioning. Verdict: Join only if you’re looking for hands-on exposure and can tolerate a tough, unsupportive work environment. Stay long-term only if you’re okay surviving in a rigid, old-school system.
