Pros

*30 minute treatment sessions *Family -like environment *Good mentorship programs

Cons

*Compensation model (Onus One) - gives lowest value to employees responsible for bringing in income to company *With this type of pay model, it makes going out to see/market to referral sources very unattractive because as a therapist or clinic director you are losing income *Poor communication between upper management and everyone else *Conversion to EPIC for billing purposes has been terrible for physical therapy offices *Would like to see marketing team offer more help with in person engagement with referral sources to build more business

Pros

There are very few reasons to work for MOTION. The best I can say is that there is a structured mentorship program for new grads and regular CEU opportunities. That's it.

Cons

The pay structure is a professional slap on the face and insult. It is not a salary. It is a sliding scale based on how many patients you see each week. It is purely volume based. Be careful, they will say otherwise. They will say they care about quality of care and tell you they don't expect you to see more than 12 a day which is about a 40 minute treat per patient. However, the honest truth and reality of the situation is that each patient is worth an actual dollar amount (about $13 if you see 60 patients a week). The actual dollar value of each patient will go up or down and is directly related to how many you see a week. The ONLY way to make more money is to see more patient and spend more hours working (think 10+ hours a day with 20+ patients for any significant increase in your paycheck). As you can see their structure doesn't back up their words. They say they care about their staff, but turnover is INSANELY high and they almost never negotiate benefits or pay. They will "listen" to your concerns and then never act to improve the situation. It gives the appearance that you matter because management will take the time to talk, but in actuality they already made up their mind and never had any intention of changing and are simply appeasing you. There is a total lack of transparency. The CEO will say one thing and then immediately back track. You can't trust anything they say because they constantly retract information and will change their minds at the drop of a hat with zero explanation. There hasn't been a single recent policy that has actually improved the lives of staff. They have only made life harder, more trepidatious, and more financially damaging. For example, when they switched to the new pay model they had originally told everyone to "treat it like your own business". They said that we could manage our schedules as we wanted and that a full time work week was 30 hours. Many asked to confirm if that meant they could work 30 hours and still receive full pay and benefits. Repeatedly they said yes. So, many chose to go that route. Somehow, they didn't expect that people would actually choose this (because when then asked managers [only managers] few changed their hours in clinic), so they back tracked on their words again and made the decision to pro-rate pay based on number of hours in the clinic without telling ANYBODY. It is deceitful. No where in their policies can you see them live their core values of compassion, empowerment, integrity, and teamwork. They treat therapists and front desk as disposable. They pretend to give you freedom then take it away. They constantly go back on their word. And the only team that seems to matter is the executive and management teams. They say they care about employee opinions. But never once did they reach out and ask the staff what they felt about policy changes that directly impact the staff therapists. In just a few short years they drove their own name, reputation, and culture into the ground. They are already another Professional/Spear/Jag. Just another mill that expects to burn through new grads and push volume to stay in business If you have any experience as a PT don't waste your time here. Your expertise is not valued and you won't get paid what you're worth. If you're a new grad please be aware of what you are getting into. There are thousands of clinics out there to choose from and they are not all like this. We should be protecting and nurturing our newest colleagues, not working them to the point of burnout and being totally jaded from the profession within 2-3 years of working.
