Pros

Streamlined IT Operations: Using ManageEngine tools like asset management and network monitoring significantly improved the efficiency of our daily IT tasks at PepsiCo. Automation of processes like patch management and ticketing freed up time for our team to focus on higher-priority issues. Real-Time Monitoring: The ability to monitor systems in real time allowed us to identify potential issues before they escalated, ensuring our IT infrastructure stayed reliable and minimizing downtime across PepsiCo’s global operations. Comprehensive Tool Suite: From help desk management to network and asset tracking, ManageEngine provided a full suite of tools that met most of our needs, making it easier to manage everything under one platform. Reduced Manual Effort: Many tasks that used to require manual intervention were automated, resulting in quicker response times and more efficient workflows. This was particularly helpful for managing the high volume of IT requests and support tickets across departments.

Cons

Lacked Seamless Ecosystem Integration: One of the major challenges we faced at PepsiCo was that ManageEngine didn’t fully integrate with all of our other internal systems. This led to occasional data syncing issues, which could disrupt workflow and create silos between different IT teams. Integration Challenges: While ManageEngine offers a broad range of features, the lack of smooth integration with existing tools at PepsiCo sometimes created gaps in our processes, making it harder for different teams to collaborate efficiently. Complex User Interface: Despite its powerful capabilities, the platform’s interface wasn’t the most intuitive. As someone who worked directly with it, I found that new users, including those outside of IT, struggled to navigate it effectively, which led to longer onboarding times. Setup and Customization Overhead: Setting up ManageEngine to align with PepsiCo’s specific needs required significant time and effort. Customizing the platform for our large-scale operations was not always straightforward and required technical expertise, which could be a barrier for some teams.
