      Pros

      No work experience hires. I witnessed so many technicians hired with little to no experience come in, succeed and move on to the next level after 4-5 years. MTC trains really good technicians that hire on elsewhere to be inspectors. Working equipment. Trucks were kept up and driven home. Benefits were nice - focused on young single people. Lots of vacation time. Flexible schedule - was able to get pick up or drop off daughter at school when needed.

      Cons

      Weekends, early morning and late nights. Parking ramps and buildings, concrete testing. These are the jobs that pushed me away.

      Everyone I met was friendly

      Cons

      Training very substandard. Work area a mess. Inconsistent hours. Safety approach much less than I'm used to. Low compensation for commitment and effort expected.
