Pros

- Attending conferences is a great way to meet people and hopefully make connections - Working from Home is the best option don't move to Chicago - The CTO is really kind

Cons

- Leadership pats themselves on the back for not doing much and takes credit for everyone else good work - HR is a joke and will gaslight any employee who comes to her with issues or concerns. Protecting the male leadership is her real job - Middle Management are all yes people and are scared to tell Leadership how they poison the culture - Male Toxicity at its BEST. CEO is a control freak who is desperate to make this product work but when you see the numbers brands are unhappy - Is there an unhappy brand? Well, don't worry you'll be the scapegoat for the failure and not that the product is a poor man's LTK with no quality influencers - The inappropriate scolding from the C-Suite toward women is overlooked - If you live in the Chicagoland area, RUN! They make the Chicago people go into a WEWORK not an actual office. - Work/Life balance: Nope, Slack messages on a Sunday! You want to take 20 mins to pick up your kids, Don't even think about it. It's part of their policy that that doesn't occur

Pros

People you work with are great. Good setup for remote work and Mavely has strong brand recognition.

Cons

Wouldn't know where to start. Leaders get constant feedback, but only value when fits their agenda. Thick skin is necessary.

Pros

• Innovative Mission: Mavely’s focus on aligning creators and brands has potential and operates in a growing market. • Collaborative Colleagues: I worked with some incredibly talented and supportive peers who genuinely cared about doing great work. • Startup Environment: The fast-paced nature of the company provides opportunities to take ownership and grow if you thrive in ambiguity.

Cons

• Leadership Misalignment: There’s a notable gap between the company’s stated values and the leadership culture. For example, I once shared industry articles to encourage learning and spark new ideas—a common practice in many startups—but was told this detracted from my “real work.” Actions like this made it feel as though initiative and curiosity were undervalued, which is counterproductive in a growth-focused environment. It showed a lack of alignment with the product and our users (whose job it is to share links with others). • Stifling for Ambition: Proactive individuals may find themselves labeled as “too much” or even “volatile,” which can stifle creativity and limit growth opportunities. • Mental Health Impact: The pressure to perform perfectly contributes to a high-stress environment that can take a toll on mental health, especially in a startup where iteration and learning should be encouraged. • Rigid Hierarchies: Despite the startup label, some dynamics reflect a more traditional corporate structure, which can limit agility and transparency.
