Easy job, but there's a huge lack of direction

Pros

- Working from home is nice, especially as a parent. - The work isn't very stressful - Everyone I work with is genuinely nice

Cons

The Management team and CEO have no experience prior to this company and it shows. They never seem sure of what they're doing, with every decision being an emotional one instead of a logical one. The rhythm and pace of the company seem to change every few weeks just because the CEO read a new book. The lack of consistency makes it hard to know where the company is going to go.

Be VERY careful accepting a position

Pros

It is considered a “cool” company. There is a good work/life balance, relatively good benefits, remote work and development opportunities.

Cons

If you’re considering a job here, do your research and look for former employees. In my opinion, they have very high turnover of staff. They don’t have professional processes in place to assess performance and tend to churn through people. People have left unpleasantly and abruptly. The development team seems least affected by this.

Pros

Employees come first at MeetEdgar. The company respects employees' intelligence and time. Regular 1:1s with leaders, lots of opportunity to grow, evolve, and try new things as long as you are providing value to the company ("value for value"). The bar for performance is set high here, which means you get to work with very smart people who are excellent at their jobs. Working remotely is an amazing perk (every single person at the company is remote), and MeetEdgar puts a lot of effort into maintaining healthy teams, keeping communication friction-free, and protecting the company culture - things that sometimes get left behind for remote workers.

Cons

The company is growing quickly, which means the organization needs to adapt just as quickly to ensure processes can keep up. This can cause communication hiccups and other unforeseen problems. That said, because the environment is so welcoming to feedback/iteration, these issues never last long.
