I have been working at Merkle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good range of client work in different fields
    Beautiful office and great location

    Cons

The office is quite segregated and career progression is quite difficult to manoeuvre.
Career paths are not straightforward to build on, and promises are not always kept.

    Advice to Management

Managers appear almost secretive and lack transparency at times - be more open with members of their team.

I have been working at Merkle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Opportunity to gain some useful experience if you are a graduate /or still early in your career (junior level)

    - Opportunity to work with well-known brands, which is a good experience to have and will look good on your CV

    - Career progression opportunities are quite good at Merkle (mainly due to the rapid growth of the company and relatively high staff turnover)

    Cons

    - Poor work/life balance

    - Training and personal development not taken seriously

    - Micro-management

    - Ridiculous timekeeping & task scheduling system

    - Difficult to navigate, mainly due to its organisational structures and processes not keeping pace with the huge growth (a lot of acquisitions)

    - Poor internal communication, especially from senior management

    - Outdated, poorly understood, under-funded, under-maintained and unreliable legacy systems, which are no longer fit for purpose

    - Benefits package below the current market standards, especially for the IT industry

    - Rewards rarely linked to individual performance

    - Cut-throat culture

I worked at Merkle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Merkle has some great talent across many different disciplines and because of this you can learn an awful lot very quickly from others in the company. The type of work pivots at a rate that is perhaps too fast at times, but they are always trying to stay ahead of the marketing tech curve which is how you survive.

    Cons

Expect to work very long hours and to have to feel your way around your role with little guidance - you need to be tough and smart to work at Merkle. Recognition and the career progression process could do with some refinement in order to retain the best staff.

    Advice to Management

Allocate more official time for training in order to grow and retain existing staff. Lower expected utilization rates in order to get the correct resourcing on accounts.
