Mixed Bag - Tons of Learning, Tons of Politics
Pros
It was a great place for me to learn about manufacturing, healthcare and engineering. It definitely provided me with a unique and humbling professional experience. I learned about casting, molding, vacuum forming, making fixtures, and painting. I also learned how to be patient, work efficiently, work as a team and communicate clearly. There are some good people that work there, and I looked forward to working with them everyday.
Cons
I did not know who my boss was during my entire time there, so I was on my own without any mentoring. There's not a lot of job security there, and I did not feel trusted to do my job. I went way above, beyond and outside my job description in an attempt to help the company grow and develop their business. The worst part is that all the work that I did to develop their company will probably never be used or recognized.
