Pros

accessible easily with plenty of transport options.

Cons

Bullying and harassment is the norm there if you speak up against Managers and members of the executive team when they themselves don't follow the rules and regulations. The Council should change the position title of General Manager to General MICRO Manager given their behaviour towards staff. I experience direct bullying and harassment from Managers and members of the Executive Team. Sadly they don't realise that they are managing tax payers' money and give an impression that they are running their own private farmhouse with qualified employees as their personal slaves. Transparency is a joke there and the so called leadership laughs at it full time. The executive team garner a very high opinion of themselves which actually is all smokes and mirrors to hide their own incompetency. Yes they are experts in retaining government funding in order to make sure they keep maintaining their chairs. And Human Resources is a joke there, If fact instead of Human Resources it should be called INHUMAN RESOURCES.

Pros

The area is very pretty and most of the locals who come in to use the council services are nice. You won't be able to afford to shop or eat there based on what you get paid, but you can window shop.

Cons

The new IT manager tells female employees that IT issues are 'too technical' for them. Needless to say, most of the IT staff have quit recently. Computer systems all shutting down due to his poor understanding of IT or communication systems. HR department are a bunch of awful, petty bureaucrats who set themselves in opposition of staff. One moment we're told we have flexible hours, but you can work a 65 hour week, come in half an hour late one morning and be forced to take annual leave for that missing 30 minutes. Forget about taking sick leave - you must put your sick leave in as annual leave - even hospital admission documents won't be good enough to get sick leave. Your parent died? There's no compassion for that, it will come out of your annual leave allocation. Considering nearly every one in the HR dept have also recently quit, they must all hate each other, too. Every department understaffed, everyone trying to do multiple jobs to keep the place afloat, but you will still be treated like trash.
