Pros

If you are willing to leave your morals behind or use this as a stepping stone there is opportunity to earn a relatively healthy income and move onto better employment opportunities else where.

Cons

The company was founded by a landfill falconer who although has experience with birds of prey has very little experience of any other forms of pest control. The company was then franchised to give a national presence (although only in largely populated areas). The franchisees who mainly bought in are all 40+ and have come from other industries i.e. banking, legal and H&S and have no knowledge or experience within the industry. The franchisees all undertook a weeks in house falconry training and attended BPCA level 2 training. After this they all think they are experts in the field of bird and pest control and dismiss the knowledge and experience of the few employees who have long standing careers in the industry. No training has been rolled out to front line staff and there is no program in place to train / educate them. In fact the MD is highly reluctant to invest in training due to the fear of staff leaving soon after. NBC unofficial policy is to hire unqualified and inexperienced staff on a low rate of pay with the promise of training to come, which never materializes. Operational staff are given minimal resources and equipment to under take work and in most cases do not have the proper tools or materials to complete jobs properly. Staff are highly monitored and pushed to achieve a high revenue per day with minimal support from management.

Pros

I can't think of any.

Cons

NBC took over the RAF bird control contracts in 2017 for a period of three years with a two extension if the RAF were agreeable. The problems start at the top, the company has no idea whatsoever on how these military contracts run. They have irreparably damaged NBC's prospects of expanding into other contracts by running the eastern region so undermanned and financially tight that they lost both the Scottish and Vale Of York tenders despite the fact they were the cheapest bid. From the second NBC took over the RAF BCU contract they have pushed experienced operators out and haven't replaced them to save money without knowing how the contract actually run and what dangers they have allowed to creep in through a lack of manning and correct training. They've had two experienced regional managers resign in ten months. They've pushed annualised hour contracts onto staff who have been on the bases happily in some cases for twenty years which has lead to staff leaving. They have employed a number of civilian staff members as roving cover, this doesn't work as they don't have enough experience on any one base to do the job properly this is a very dangerous scheme which could and will endanger the lives of pilots, These employees have subsequently left. The region has gone from having a number of experienced bird control operators on the airfields to losing members of staff from every single base on the six bases that NBC cover. Any staff member that has dared to offer constructive advice has been met with disrespect from NBC despite the advice being offered to actually help the company it is seen as non workable as it would cost money which isn't possible due to NBC putting in a tender offer that was so low that they won the region but they can't profitably operate the region and so they are making cuts as and where they can which creates a number of problems which NBC patch up as they go along

Pros

It’s a wage, this is the minimum positive I can take

Cons

Where does one start, this company has a total lack of management structure and moves along a path lacking ethics and morals. With a history of bullying from director level this company unfortunately leaves employees and former franchisees and directors with more than a sour taste upon exiting the organisation. There is a lack of training and support upon entering your role which is subject to catastrophic change at a moments notice removing earning potential along the way. Senior managers and directors need training in man management as they are completely lacking in this area.
