Pros
NCCN is a mission-driven organization populated by really great people who are passionate about improving cancer care. Working here, you get the feeling that you're part of a dedicated team that's doing good in the world. NCCN is widely liked and recognized within the cancer community and I'm proud to be part of this organization. People tend to stay at NCCN for a long time and there's a relatively low turnover rate. The pay is pretty good compared to similar organizations (especially considering that we're non-profit) and benefits are excellent. NCCN's outlook is good, it's doing well financially, and the organization is growing. Our jobs feel very stable. We have the tools and support from management to do well at our jobs. The work is interesting and there's frequent opportunities to take on new responsibilities and learn new things. Work-life balance tends to be very good. It's a great environment for working parents.
Cons
Depending on the department and position, there can be a lack of opportunity for growth and advancement. If you're someone who's focused on moving up the organization's ladder, this place might not be the best fit for you. Also, work from home opportunities are lacking and there are non-sensical hoops that must be jumped through in order to do it. There's some indications that both of these might be changing for the better, though.
