Pros

Benefits were good. Monthly company meetings for recognition, company wide annual holiday party.

Cons

Toxic leadership. If you want to move up, be prepared to pucker up. Was once told to spend more time socializing than working even as calls on hold were piling up. Tried moving up the chain, but was told any position I was looking at was not a good fit. Given a pity interview once with no feedback.

Pros

Benefits are competitive in the industry.

Cons

Management fosters adversarial work environment by partaking in and advocating mob behavior (talking behind people's backs). Management uses foul language a lot, is arrogant, and has no regard for political correctness. Lessor tenured employees are expected to vie for attention. Long hours and weekends are expected to be in good graces.

Pros

I do not have any positive information to share regarding this company.

Cons

NCMIC's company website states the following - "NCMIC offers exciting and rewarding opportunities for insurance and finance professionals. We strive to attract, develop, motivate and retain exceptional people, because we know the key to happy customers is happy employees. At NCMIC you'll be challenged to make a difference ... and your performance and results will be recognized and rewarded." This could not be more inaccurate based on my experience. Management was the most unprofessional I have worked with in my career. I was not motivated or challenged, nor was my performance recognized. Despite several requests, development opportunities were not afforded. Communication was poor and there was a very condescending nature from management towards lower level employees. There were many unhappy employees during my employ, none of which the company attempted to work with to make happy nor attempted to retain them when they left. Benefits were good, PTO days were less than other companies I have considered and pay was less than average for the same position in Des Moines. The company does offer wonderful holiday and other parties and gifts, but in lieu of compensation.
