Pros

Work life balance Soft enviornment

Cons

It's the equivalent of a government job. No urgency or opportunity for upward mobility and people just want to stay in the same role till they retire. The organization is top heavy and very clique-y. To get promoted you have to be in the IN crowd. Work merit DOESNT matter only socializing and posting on LinkedIn does

Pros

- Nobody works very hard, so you don't have to either. - Expectations are quite low, so it's not hard to be a good performer. - Pay is high relative to the amount of actual work done. And it's especially high if you are AVP or above and get a bonus structure on top of your already inflated base salary. (Sr Consultant - 15-20%, AVP - 30% or more, VP 40% or more, and so on.) - It's a great place if you love process. And an even better fit when you enjoy processes that are superbly inefficient.

Cons

- If you are ambitious or an achiever, you will feel like your career has stalled. - People are promoted based on whose behind they have been kissing for the last few years. Cronyism runs strong. Skillset is secondary to internal politics. - "Nationwide Nice" is the cute way of saying "let's just talk about people behind their backs, instead of having the guts to speak up in a meeting." - So much energy is spent on excessive meetings, red tape, creating inefficient processes, and communicating to make yourself, your team, or your department look far more competent/productive than they are.
