It's the equivalent of a government job. No urgency or opportunity for upward mobility and people just want to stay in the same role till they retire. The organization is top heavy and very clique-y. To get promoted you have to be in the IN crowd. Work merit DOESNT matter only socializing and posting on LinkedIn does

Skillset is secondary to internal politics. - "Nationwide Nice" is the cute way of saying "let's just talk about people behind their backs, instead of having the guts to speak up in a meeting." - So much energy is spent on excessive meetings, red tape, creating inefficient processes, and communicating to make yourself, your team, or your department look far more competent/productive than they are.
