Pros

None, stay away if you want to keep your safety, as well as your RN license intact.

Cons

Not one patient wears a wrist band. MHT/BHA's sit around and don't do proper contraband check. An RN can and will work an entire unit of about 22 patients with discharges and admissions all day all by yourself. The mix of patients within the units is so great, from highly aggressive schizophrenia to mild depression within the same unit. Fights break out constantly. I was attacked by being bitten by a patient, tore through skin, and the CNO just shrugged her shoulders. The understaffing is so bad, the whole hospital would have 3 nurses for 3 units. 60+ patients and only 3 nurses and you're expected to do all the work since the aids literally sit there. Patients could be admitted with no room available. No extra clothes for patients and for some reason, even though it's a psychiatric hospital, they allow a lot of terrible contraband on the units that are ligature risks or weapons. When I worked there for 4 months, the state had to investigate several times. I don't know how this place is still open. Id see people leave in worse shape than they arrive. They also allow medically unstable patients to be admitted. Anything for increasing census even though they are not equipped for medical treatments. Pharmacist doesn't load the med cart so there's also no meds to dispense and it's your fault.
